About Us

Practical water sense for a dry state

Summit Water Systems Group is a Salt Lake City consultancy with one job: helping people use less water without giving up the things water is for. Utah is one of the driest states in the country, and every gallon saved indoors or on a landscape is a gallon that stays in our reservoirs, our rivers, and the Great Salt Lake.

The practice is led by principal consultant Laura Fenwick, who has spent her career on the working side of water — fixtures, meters, irrigation controllers, and the utility bills that tell you whether a fix actually worked. Laura built Summit around a simple standard: no recommendation leaves our office unless it comes with a cost, an expected saving, and a way to check the result.

We work with homeowners, HOAs, property managers, schools, and businesses across the Wasatch Front. Whether you need a one-time audit or a full water management plan, you get plain findings, ranked priorities, and follow-through until the savings show up.

Our Expertise

Six ways we help you waste less water

Every engagement starts with measurement and ends with a plan you can act on — in-house or with a contractor of your choice.

Water Conservation Audits

We walk your property fixture by fixture, meter your actual use, and show you exactly where water goes — and where it leaks away. You get a plain-language report with each finding priced and ranked by payback.

Plumbing Efficiency Retrofit Planning

From fixtures and valves to hot-water recirculation, we spec the retrofits that pay for themselves fastest and skip the ones that don't. Plans include product options, rebate eligibility, and a phased budget.

Irrigation System Optimization

Outdoor watering is the biggest use of water on most Utah properties, and often the most wasteful. We tune schedules, fix coverage, and match your system to your landscape so plants stay healthy on far less.

Greywater & Reuse Planning

Laundry and shower water can do useful work twice before it leaves your property. We design code-compliant reuse setups for Utah and walk you through the permitting so the system is legal, safe, and simple to run.

Leak Detection Programs

Small leaks quietly waste thousands of gallons a year and are easy to miss until the bill arrives. We set up monitoring and routine checks that catch problems in days, not billing cycles.

Commercial Water Management Plans

For offices, schools, restaurants, and multifamily buildings, we build a complete water plan: baselines, targets, upgrades, and a monitoring routine your staff can keep up. Written to satisfy lenders, boards, and city conservation programs.

Where the Savings Come From

Three things every engagement delivers

Audit findings

Measured, not guessed. We read meters, test flow rates, and log actual use, so the report reflects your building — not a national average. Every finding names the fixture, the waste, and the fix.

Retrofit priorities

A ranked list, not a wish list. Each recommendation comes with an estimated cost, expected savings, and applicable rebates, ordered by payback — so your first dollar goes where it works hardest.

Verified results

The job isn't done at installation. We compare your bills before and after, confirm the savings landed, and adjust anything that underperforms. You see the difference in gallons and dollars.
